Our Selection Process, Part 3 Lighting

Whether you're remodeling or building a custom home you'll want to dive deep into the process for selecting your light fixtures. Light fixtures can add any number of design elements to your spaces but it's important while your looking through options that you consider the functionality. You definitely want your fixtures to deliver the amount of light you need for the functionality of each room.

Our favorite kitchen lighting fixtures include pendants, canned lighting and under cabinet lighting. This is one place that most of our clients need the most light for all the work they do in their kitchens. In most cases our clients choose to have all three options: canned lighting, pendants and under cabinet lighting.

Next, you'll want to take in consideration how much natural lighting you have or will have in each of the spaces of your home. Sconces, chandeliers and huge statement fixtures can illuminate spaces that may not have the best lighting or that need specialized lighting to set the mood of the space.

In bathrooms, you can do a few fun things like mirrors that light up, interior cabinet lighting and you'll almost always be looking at a canned lighting.
