Our Selection Process, Part 4 Cabinetry

Six Cabinetry Trends We Love

Cabinetry trends are something we watch carefully. We want to make sure our clients have access to the latest design trends as well as innovative options that could shape their design. When we see a new trend we get excited to incorporate them into our client’s designs. We are dedicated to educating clients on all their options. Here are six of our favorite design trends.

Accent Cabinet Hardware

Hardware can be a great way to draw attention to beautiful cabinetry. It really makes the selection process fun. Instead of everything matching we can give a pop of color to black cabinets with gold hardware or black hardware on beautiful blue cabinetry. The possibilities are endless and we only see this trend getting even more exciting with the introductions of new options and color combinations all the time.

Floor to Ceiling

What a great way to maximize storage by taking your cabinets from floor to ceiling. This also eliminates the empty space we’ve seen above cabinets in recent years. The functionality of more storage is practical and with new ways to keep a kitchen open and airy, why not add more storage.

Mix ‘N Match

Yes! You can absolutely have gold hardware on the black cabinets of your kitchen island while keeping the hardware black on the white cabinets surrounding the same kitchen island. A thousand times, yes! On that note adding two tone cabinetry is a great way to incorporate color into your spaces. We also love to mix metal finishes in light fixture accents, cabinet hardware and plumbing fixtures. We have plenty of clients that love for things to match and that’s great, but if you want to mix it up, now more than ever it can be fun to explore different combinations including two-tone cabinet colors.

Floating Shelves

We do a lot of floating shelves in kitchen and bathrooms to offset floor to ceiling cabinetry or just in general to keep small kitchens spacious while providing large kitchens with opportunities to display plants, cookbooks, decor or other more functional items like plates, glasses, cups or oversized bowls (to name a few).

Built In Appliances

Built In Appliances

Kitchen appliances might be more intelligent, efficient and more feature-packed than ever, but that doesn't mean they need to grab the spotlight. Consider disguising appliances with kitchen cabinet doors for a more streamlined appearance. There have been so many advances in appliances that you can free up EVEN more counter space when you choose a built in espresso machine or double oven.

Custom Cabinet Storage

Whether you’re looking for an in-drawer spice rack or to hide your trash can in a pull out drawer, custom cabinetry storage has become a great way to organize your kitchen. It’s nice to have utensil organizers, knife storage and cookie sheet shelves to simplify your kitchen’s work spaces.

We’d love the opportunity to help you with your project. There are many spaces where cabinetry can help you with storage and functionality. If you’re thinking of building a custom home or remodeling an existing kitchen, bath, basement, or living space please reach out. We'd love to be on your team.
