This 100-year old home remodel included an overhaul of the entire main level, primary bedroom, and guest bath. The clients envisioned a mid-century modern inspired space that could showcase their bright furnishings and eclectic art. Walls were removed in the once-small, non-functional kitchen to allow for a peninsula island and wine bar. Opening up the wall, allowed for more storage and seating and better visibility into the living room. The cabinetry was updated with new maple bases and acrylic uppers for a clean, sleek look. A small drop zone was added in the mudroom with a bright yellow door greeting the family every day. A half bath was added on the main level with a hidden pocket door. Materials selected include a pink tile accent wall black lighting and gold plumbing fixtures. This moody space features black painted walls and ceiling with a custom wood vanity and Onyx countertop. The existing fireplace remains and was updated with fresh paint, a new wood mantel, and fireplace cover. A geometric, patterned tile was inserted for the hearth. Hickory engineered floors span the entire main floor in a gorgeous medium-finish. A spacious office was placed at the opposite end of the living room with ample natural lighting via single-hung windows. The primary bath features a large free-standing tub, painted vanity, linen closet, and tiled shower. Photography by Andraya Stender.
