Hi, I’m Jen Haywood! I started Texturious Designs in 2017. I have a Master of Arts degree in Interior Design from Iowa State University. I researched and published studies related to the interior impact on our overall health and behavior. Utilizing the healing and transformative power of design, you can have a home that you love and are proud to show off!

What's in a name? I combined two design-related words “texture” and “luxurious” inspired by my days living in Wisconsin and frequenting a local cheese shop with an equally unique name, Fromagination.

Our Story

Texturious Designs was started in 2017 after a life-changing career shift. Realizing my deep desire to create and put beauty out into the world, I settled on a business name and formed an LLC. It started as a blog, educating people on how to DIY projects within their own home, but I quickly realized that I needed to do more. My services expanded to full remodels and custom home builds, collaborating with homeowners that wanted a design partner, someone to guide them through the overwhelm and unknowns that come with building or modifying a home. There’s literally hundreds of decisions to make and details to consider. Making the wrong one can cost you lots of time and money. Texturious Designs was started to help you achieve your vision with confidence and ease. With my previous career in project management, I am a stickler for timelines and the details and work tirelessly to ensure your home project is completed above and beyond your expectations.

Meet Alex Retallick
Our Design Intern

Hi, I'm Alex Retallick! I am a senior in Interior Design at Iowa State University. I have experience working as a freelance interior designer and started a photography business in 2012. I love to travel and recently studied abroad in Rome, Italy. I have great appreciation for modern, clean line style designs with high impact. I'm excited to assist Texturious Designs with our remodels and new construction projects, focusing on space planning and selecting quality products and materials for our clients.
